Jason has had P&L responsibilities since 2007 at UPM. With 25+ years in the plastics business and a background in sales, the company is ever focused on customer satisfaction, growth, and continuous improvement. Jason is a father of 3 and has been married to his wife Rusty since 1999. For fun, Jason enjoys spending time with his friends and family, baseball (Dodgers), hockey (Kings), football (Da Bears), golf, and Crossfit.
Steve has worked in the plastics business for over 30 years. Under his direction, the operations side of UPM is highly organized and very responsive. Steve has built a team of professionals who keep the company operating at a high level of efficiency. Steve and his wife, Janis, have 2 grown children. In his free time, Steve enjoys concerts, travel, and wine tasting.
Cinthya has been with UPM since 1993 and has worked for several departments within the company throughout the years. Her move into Purchasing in 2006 has helped improve UPM’s strategic partnerships. Her strength in supply chain management and knowledge of the plastics industry bring a key role to UPM. Cinthya has a son in college and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Mike’s experience goes back 30 years in the industry. His knowledge of plastics, coupled with his project management skills, bring a valuable resource to UPM’s customers. Mike has four children and enjoys golfing and boating in his free time.
Mike has over 20 years of experience in the warehouse and traffic field. Prior to coming to UPM, Mike owned his own 3PL and trucking company. He was also the regional manager for Penske warehousing division in the bay area. Mike has a son and a daughter and plays hockey for fun.
Sue has been with UPM for over 20 years. Her experience in planning, purchasing, and customer service serves our customers well. This knowledge allows her to resolve problems quickly and effectively. Sue acts as our customer’s voice and is an advocate for them, making sure issues are solved quickly, orders are on-time, and our customers are happy. Sue has two grown children and enjoys playing billiards for fun.
Maylan Lopez
Jose began his 20+ year career with UPM as an inspector. Working under two experienced managers, he grew his plastics and quality system knowledge working his way up to quality engineer. In 2012, he was promoted to quality control manager where he manages his staff and the shop floor product and service quality. Jose (called Mauricio) is married and has two young children.
Cary came to UPM in 2010. His mission at the time was to take UPM’s tooling department to the next level. With top notch skills, experience with large molds, and an ability to get difficult jobs done quickly and with cost savings, he supports UPM’s shop floor and customers. His duties include overseeing of tooling of mold and hot runner repairs, machining and welding, polishing, keeping proper maintenance of every tool, design and review of tooling projects. Cary has a son and a daughter and spends his free time working on his cars.
Robert Ashdown is the Assembly Manager at Universal Plastic Mold, Inc., where he manages the manufacturing of many diverse customer product lines. Before this role, Robert was the president of Facility Supply Depot, where directed the activity of the company. He holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. In his spare time, he enjoys riding his bicycle and motorcycle. He lives in Whittier with his wife Gail and is the father of three adult boys.
